After receiving this product, I have since found the superior original version of the Chums Card Wallet with key ring and ID window (ASIN B002S6V9PO). This Surfshort replacement doesnt even come close to the quality and utility of the original. I received a few of these replacement Chums Surfshort Wallets, and none of them has a hardy (plastic?) round logo with the bird or any red color, as pictured on product pages of multiple vendors. I happen to like the original wallet with the red-footed booby bird. The originals are better than the replacement ones for many reasons. The original Chums Card Wallets: 1) are slightly larger and more expandable: They hold my license and other cards, cash, lip balm, etc. 2) are sturdier: The material is thick and similar to what is used for backpacks. The edges are all bound. 3) are more secure: The zippers stay shut and dont open on their own. The zippers also have strong cords with easy-pull tabs. 4) are cuter: They have the red-footed booby birds with red feet embroidered into the tough fabric. These replacement Surfshort Wallets: 1) are slightly smaller and have a smaller window: My entire drivers license didnt show through the window, and the wallet didnt hold as much of my stuff. 2) are flimsy: The material is thinner, and there is no binding along the edges. Im guessing my drivers license would cut through the fabric after a while. 3) are not secure. The flimsy zippers open on their own. I lost some change and maybe bills because of this. Although there is an additional open pocket with reflective material, there is nothing I would put in there due to the risk of losing it. 4) are more about product advertising and less about cuteness: Some models have a thin patch with a mono-colored booby bird (no red feet) and the CHUMS logo sticking out of his stomach. The patch on mine started to come off and ravel within the first week of use. I sewed back on what was left of it. The newest models have only the CHUMS logo and no bird. I included a photo of my "new" Chums Surfshort Wallet next to my new original Chums Card Wallet. You can see that the zipper on the replacement is opening on its own, and the top right corner of the thin logo patch has wasted away. I now use this cheap replacement wallet to attach my work ID holder and desk key.

Called the number on back of package and they have a very hassle free guarantee. Had a replacement in a few days. Knowing they will back their product Ive ordered another one for myself (I tried the crabby wallet but prefer Chums). Original Review: Wallet Zipper was stuck upon arrival. we were able to manage to get it loose but if we zip it completely closed it gets stuck every time. theres a bit of fabric on the inside that is easy to catch. I added a picture to try to show the problem. Otherwise it looks like a great size for carrying a key and sticking in my bike jersey pocket during bike tides.

The wallet seems fine, except it didnt come exactly the way it was described and pictured. I thought it would have the little penguin on the pocket, but mine had no penguin. Its not a huge deal, but it should come the way it is described. I have tried a lot of the minimalist style wallets... this seems just as nice as the crabby wallet, but with a bit more room. Ive read some bad reviews about the pockets tearing, so Ill have to wait and see.

These little wallets are FANTASTIC. Ive never been a huge fan of carrying around a purse or bag, so I love being able to have one of these for my cards and keys, so that all I have to carry is my phone and one of these. I started this habit in college where I had a regular supply of cardholders with key rings that I used for years before I finally ran out of them (they were vinyl/plastic and would rip apart eventually). So I went looking for something to act as a replacement and came across these. I wanted something relatively small but that could still hold a decent amount and these ended up fitting the bill perfectly. When I had tried one and liked it, I ordered several more so that Ill have some for years to come in case they stop selling them. Ive already been using the first one for a couple of years now and its holding up great - just a little dirty from frequent use. It hardly has any wear and tear and the stitching hasnt come apart at all. The zippers work perfectly (and they stay shut), the fabric seems to be some sort of durable woven synthetic, the plastic window is fine, and I havent had any problems with the key ring part. This thing holds a lot (a lot more than my old cardholders since these have zippers) and is only a little bit bigger than what I was used to. I currently have a dozen cards in it, some cash, a dollars worth of quarters, and one of those flat multi-tools that has a cutting edge, bottle opener, etc. and a couple random receipts, etc. Its on the full side, but I could probably cram some other stuff in if I needed to. Basically these things are GREAT and I highly recommend!

I purchased this wallet with hope of getting a versatile, weather-survivable option for outdoor adventures. I am a front-pocket-walleter so I needed something slim and compact, but not so unmanageably small that Id have to pry things in and out. I also like to tether my vitals to me when engaged in reckless behavior so the integral D-ring (shown as a key ring) works beautifully to attach a lanyard that I loop around a belt loop. It is PLENTY big for an ID, six or more cards and a reasonable wad of good ole $USD. The manufacturing quality is exceptional- the rip-stop body is high quality, stitching is clean and precise, zippers and hardware- good quality. I like the two compartments (three if you consider the little dividing flap between the visible ID window and the primary compartment. It is EXTREMELY light so for hikers, bikers, climbers-- perfect. The thin but tough nylon dries quickly and so far without any shrink or distortion. I have to say, this little wallet is EXACTLY what I was looking for AND its manufactured in the U.S.- WHAT?! Unless you carry your life with you at all times, if you need something slim, strong, light, and "tetherable", look no further.
